GETTING ORGANISED

Start with a declutter to get rid of broken or out-of-date items plus the things that don’t belong in a kitchen (we all have that one drawer!). Split your kitchen into zones – the cooking zone is where pots, pans and utensils need to be, nearest to the oven. The cleaning zone is for storing household cleaning products as well as the bin plus recycling bins, near the sink and dishwasher. Finally, the food zone is for refrigerated and pantry items, snacks and frequently used equipment such as the microwave, toaster and kettle.

MORE TO STORE

The key to good storage is to maximise space to find what you’re looking for quickly and easily. Clear and clean your worktops thoroughly and identify items that can be put away to give you more space to prepare food. Whether you use wall space by adding racks, shelves or cabinets, or incorporate multi-use units, there are many ways to add storage solutions without breaking the bank.
