CHRISTMAS COCKTAILS
During the festive period is there anything more satisfying than unwinding with a cocktail? If you’re in the mood for a classic with a twist then be sure to try out these indulgent 20s-style cocktails and mocktails courtesy of The Mixology Brothers


Festivi-Tea Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker place:
– 50ml London dry gin
– 15g strawberry jam
Stir together to dissolve the jam, then add:
– 50ml black tea
– 30ml cranberry juice
– 25ml lemon juice
– Half a passion fruit
Shake for 8-10 seconds!
Fine strain into a collins glass over fresh ice. Garnish with fresh mint and a candy cane.
Top tip:
This cocktail works equally well with vodka and feel free to experiment with other teas and jams for an extra twist!

Raspberry Mochatini
In a cocktail shaker place:
– 45ml raspberry vodka
– 22.5ml Dark crème de cacao
– 22.5ml raspberry liqueur
– 30ml fresh espresso coffee
Shake for 8-10 seconds!
Fine strain into a martini glass and serve straight up. Garnish with fresh raspberries.
Top tip:
To get an extra creamy froth on your cocktail double shake it. First shake it ‘dry’ (no ice) and then shake it ‘wet’ (with ice) and enjoy!

Mim-Ho-Ho-Ho-sa
In a cocktail shaker place:
– 25ml vodka
– 12.5ml Grand Marnier
– 50ml freshly squeezed orange juice
Shake for 8-10 seconds!
Fine strain into a wine glass and top with prosecco or Champagne.
Top tip:
The perfect breakfast cocktail for the big day!

Noël Negroni
In a stirring glass place:
– 2 fresh raspberries
Lightly muddle, then add:
– 20ml aged rum
– 20ml sweet vermouth
– 20ml Campari
– 20ml dark crème de cacao
– Dash chocolate bitters
– Dash raspberry bitters
Stir for 20-25 seconds!
Fine strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a square of dark chocolate and a fresh raspberry.
Top tip:
A booze forward cocktail, not for the fainthearted. So serve on the rocks if you’d like some extra dilution.

Festive Horchata
In a cocktail shaker place:
– 50ml alcohol-free rum
– 1tbsp mincemeat
Stir together to combine, then add:
– 50ml oat milk
Shake for 8-10 seconds!
Fine strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a pinch of nutmeg.
Top tip:
Creamy, delicious and best served accompanied by a mince pie!

Mulled Apple Juice
In a saucepan, gently warm:
– 1 litre high quality apple juice
– 500ml water
– 2 apples, halved
– 2 limes, halved
– 6 orange peel strips
– 2 cinnamon sticks
– 1 vanilla pod
– 8 cloves,
– 200g sugar
Serve warm and garnish with fresh apple and a cinnamon stirrer!
Top tip:
Not driving? Add a splash of spiced rum.
